Land Clearing in Edgewater, FL
Edgewater is the rural cousin to New Smyrna Beach, just south along the Indian River Lagoon. It’s smaller, less developed, and more affordable, which makes it attractive to owner-builders who bought lots in the 60s/70s GDC era and are now building or selling. Most of our Edgewater work is lot clearing for new construction, along with brush mowing on larger residential parcels and ongoing invasive removal along the lagoon corridor.
The IRL shoreline is the most regulated part of Edgewater. Anything close to the river or its tributaries (Turnbull Bay, the lagoon shoreline north of town) triggers wetland buffer rules. We don’t enter buffers without your written confirmation that the work is permitted.
What land clearing in Edgewater looks like
Florida Shores is the dominant neighborhood and the heart of Edgewater’s lot clearing demand. Thousands of platted single-family lots, many still vacant or recently bought by owner-builders. The lots are typically a quarter to half acre, sandy soil with palmetto and scattered pine, easy to clear with a forestry mulcher or brush hog depending on density.
Edgewater Acres and the western edges of the city are more rural. Larger parcels (often an acre or more), sometimes wooded, sometimes already partially cleared. Common jobs include forestry mulching for owner-builders who bought acreage to build on.
The river-adjacent areas (Pelican Cove, Mariner’s Cove, the IRL shoreline) have the most regulatory complexity. Mature canopy, wetland buffers, and tight access often constrain how we work.
