Land Clearing in Merritt Island, FL
Merritt Island is sandwiched between the Indian River and the Banana River, immediately south of the KSC and Cape Canaveral facilities. It’s mostly residential, with significant water-frontage on both sides and a long history of established neighborhoods. Land clearing demand here is mostly small-scale: selective tree work, brush clearing, and post-storm cleanup. The island doesn’t have much vacant or wooded undeveloped land left, so large-scale clearing is rare.
The IRL on the west side and the Banana River on the east both trigger state-level wetland and shoreline rules. Significant portions of north Merritt Island are within the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge buffer or otherwise environmentally protected. We respect buffers and confirm before entering.
What land clearing on Merritt Island looks like
Most Merritt Island residential is established, with mature canopy and smaller lots. Selective tree work and brush clearing dominate. Storm cleanup is a recurring service after named hurricanes, which the island takes regularly.
A few areas have larger lots with more flexibility. The south end of the island and certain Tropical Trail-area properties have parcels with an acre or more. North Merritt Island has older, more rural-feeling residential before transitioning into the wildlife refuge land.
The KSC area and the wildlife refuge are off-limits. We don’t work on federal land.
